PPP “Stay With Me”, “I Got You” and “Your Day Is Done”

The first single from the forthcoming PPP album features the awesome vocals of Tiombe Lockhart and Georgia and includes bonus beats for the DJs. Waajeed and the crew bust out gritty Detroit beats for the dance floor. One track is serious DJ business the other a beautiful slice of future soul.

The PPP project is already attracting huge hype – check the feature in Straight no Chaser and upcoming pieces in XLR8R and YRB, and their nomination for Next 100 act in URB – and this is only the first official single! Fall dates for PPP include European (underway right now!) and Japanese tours, dates opening for Amp Fiddler in Chicago and Detroit, plus live appearances in NYC and on the West Coast. The forthcoming album will feature guest appearances from Spacek (including a Lenny Kravitz cover!), Jay Dee, Lacks, Invincible, and labelmates SA-RA Creative Partners.

The PPP are a two-man dynamic musical duo with a fresh-faced blend of modern hip hop and soul to tempt the masses and quench the thirst of an underground scene looking for something original and twisted. Producers Waajeed (a founding member of Slum Village and producer to heavyweights like Dwelle and Jay Dee) and Saadiq began recording their “PPP” album in Detroit and are polishing it off in New York City where they recently moved. The album set for release on Ubiquity in February 2005.

“We work with a rotating cast of artists. It keeps the music fresh and innovative. It’s very important for us to go where others haven’t yet,”
says Waajeed.

"The light has come on, forget Talib Kweli, Jill Scott and Raphael Saddiq the hot shit this fall is PPP... "
- GAMALL AWAD (RUDE MOVEMENTS)

"Waajeed and Saadiq continue the form that has made the Bling47 label an essential for fans of the Jay Dee / Slum Village dirty, hip hop soul vibe...Booming, ruff beats with ragged around the edges soul quality are what this sound is all about."

- Keep On Magazine

"All I have to say is. OH MY WORD!!!!!!! Waajeed and crew keeps on doing it. What are they on? I need some of that." Rating: 10 out of 5!"

- Daz I Kue (Bugz In The Attic)
