Greyboy - To Know You Is To Love (PPP and Red Astaire mixes) (Ubiquity 12")

Hold Tight! The big Stevie Wonder and Syreata cover tune from Greyboys "Soul Mosaic" album has been given some top notch remix treatment. These 2 remixes are unavailable elsewhere, not on the album, not on any CD. Out of Sweden Red Astaire have been dropping delicious remix/re-edit flavor on the likes of Erykah Badu and Lil' Kim on GAMM, here they let loose adding live keys, bass and a shuffling Afro beat rhythm. Ubiquity act PPP give the song a thorough Detroit re-tune adding grit and hip hop-meets-downtempo-house beats - think Herbert meets Jay Dee. This is the 150th release on Ubiquity (not counting all the releases on Luv N'Haight, CuBop, etc) - rightfully a Greyboy 12" as it was his first album, released over a decade ago that helped put us on the map. Watch for upcoming Greyboy dates in: Los Angeles, Maine, Cleveland, Chicago, San Francisco, New York, Toronto, and San Jose, full details at: http://www.ubiquityrecords.com/events.html

”The PPP give it a nice twist."
KEV BEADLE

"A very nice rendition of a classic Stevie tune. Pipers mix is really cool."
RAINER TRÜBY

”Love the PPP mixes - Detroit genius trumps yet again”
GAMALL AWAD, RUDE MOVEMENTS (NYC)

”Excellent stuff all round but the Red Astaire mix is the one for me. Straight up funk on wax!”
JIMPSTER (FREERANGE)

”All the remixes are excellent - A1/A2: Deep, soulful, really sweet atmospherics & harmonies. Love it!”

FABRICE LIG (BELGIUM)

”The two remixes here do exactly what i wanted, retain the soul while amping up the vibe.  digging the PPP love unlimited-ish bounce, the instrumental works nicely as well.  red astaire's remix has a good forward motion to it, nice mid-set/warm up flavor.  playing all versions on this single.”
MONKONE (WBAI / WAX POETICS)
