Degiorgio returns with a new As One release on Ubiquity. “To
See Tomorrow” is an awesome Afro-beat-gone-techy track from
his forthcoming "On Into Darkness" album, the follow-up
to last years “21st Century Soul”. Shuffling along with
a mid-tempo percussive backbone this breakbeat-esque track builds
with lush As One signature keys and spacey sounds – imagine
a futuristic Fela Kuti tune and you’re not far off from "To
See Tomorrow".
Hard n’funky, techy n’deep this is Kirk making in-form
club music influenced by his busied DJ schedule. Currently completing
a tour in Japan, Kirk will also be appearing at Sonar in Spain
and the Dutch Drum Rhythm Festival this Spring.
"To See Tomorrow" is definitely one for fans of Kirks
big Papo Vazquez remix from the New Latinaires series.
On the flip is Kirks mate (they co-compile the Soul of Science
series for Obsessive Records) and in-demand producer/remixer Ian
O’Brien. He takes his remix skills to "Contours"
from the As One "21st Century Soul" album. Having completed
killer mixes for Dom Um Romao and Jazzanova we're delighted to
have Mr O'Brien on board. Providing a UR-style remix of the most
club oriented track from "21st Century Soul" O’Brien
keeps the up tempo, big bass line Detroit flavor of the original
and builds up the tracks percussive-side. Serious bass-bin pounding
stuff!
