"REWIND!"
Rewind!:
New cover versions, remixes and re-edits of original old school
classics, famous songs and underground rare groove gems. Our global
selection of top-notch producers have brought songs bang-up-to-date
adding a 2002 twist in the best possible taste.
We noticed that more and more artists were paying tribute to their
musical inspirations with cover versions of classic tracks. This
compilation showcases some of our recent favorites alongside brand
new exclusives.
Included are 2 cover versions from LA based Yesterdays New Quintet
(aka Madlib) including one from the Stones Throw "Angles
Without Edges" album and one previously unreleased Ohio Players
cover! UK dubsters Rockers Hi-Fi go bossa-mad on the Ella Fitzgerald
version of Creams "Sunshine of Your Love" and
Frank De Jo Jo contributes a floor-filling version of Larry Youngs
Fuel rare groove standard "Turn Off The Lights".
Also included is an incredible and obscure version of the The
Doors "Riders on the Storm" by Hungary based Yonderboi,
Nat King Cole as interpreted by Jack Costanzo (and then remixed
by As One!), red-hot French producers Gotan Project re-edit Chet
Bakers version of a Thelonious Monk tune and we go back
in time to unearth a dubbed out Shinehead cover of Michael Jacksons
"Billie Jean"!
