| "LIFE
MIRRORS"
Beatless
are hot West London DJ/producer Alex Attias and Talkin Loud A&R
man Paul Martin. "Life Mirrors" is their full length album
and it is packed with club tracks, mid-tempo soul gems, and a dash
of hip hop. Imagine Kruder and Dorfmeister chilling with Marvin
Gaye, or Shuggie Otis making New Latinaires records and you get
the idea. It's not simply another coffee table record but it is
an amazing listening album - it's clubby but musical enough to chill
to. Think future abstract soul!
Life Mirrors features appearances from crazy left coast MC / Producer
Quasimoto aka Madlib ( Strones Throw), The Daughters (vocalists
of the Oakland-based rare groove legends the Sons and Daughters
of Lite), and a host of collaborators from the West London music
scene including Mark de Clive-Lowe and Jessica Lauren. In addition
"Life Mirrors" introduces the amazing vocal talent of
Colonel Red - an incredible soul singer who sounds so much like
Aaron Neville that Beatless just had to include a new version of
the rare groove classic "Hercules"
Plundering the endless resources of Afro-Latin and Brazilian music
for funky beats, bass lines and punchy percussion, Beatless first
appeared on Ubiquity with "Latinaire" - a 12" single
that kicked off the now acclaimed New Latinaires series. It's ironic
that a band called Beatless would produce such a relentless club
tune built around a Brazilian batucada style beat. But that's Beatless:
unconventional and unique.
The"Life Mirrors" single with remix by Opaque and cover
of the Roy Ayers/Norman Connors classic "Love From The Sun"
will be released 6 weeks prior to the album.
